The Children's Dental Health Project released survey data today showing that nearly 4 in 10 Americans are delaying dental visits due to concerns about the costs they would incur. The survey also shows that roughly one-third of respondents reported that either they or a family member have "a toothache or other problem with [their] teeth or gums that needs to be addressed."

School Based Health Center Legislation Introduced by California Legislature 

Rep. Lois Capps (CA-24) introduced the Hallways to Health Act, legislation that would provide federal support for high-quality comprehensive health care and mental health services to students at School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) across the country. Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan) and Gary Peters (D-Michigan) introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

The School-Based Health Alliance recently hosted Capitol Hill briefings to raise awareness among federal policymakers about school-based health centers (SBHCs).
