24 – 30 hours per week, 39-week school-day/school-year schedule

Pay Range: $42 - $45 per hour depending on experience

 Paid time-off and 401(a) available. No medical benefits.




Under the supervision of the School-Based Health Center Coordinator and with medical direction from the center’s medical director, the nurse practitioner (NP) is responsible for the provision of comprehensive primary health care services, as well as the promotion and provision of health education/risk reduction to adolescents in the School- Based Health Center (SBHC) program. In addition, the NP will foster cooperative relationships with provider agencies in order to facilitate service delivery and referral.

School-Based Health Center Position – Eastern Connecticut
The Windham Board of Education in conjunction with Windham Hospital (a partner in Hartford HealthCare) is seeking a Nurse Practitioners to provide health care to students at the Windham Middle School Based Health Center, located in Willimantic, Connecticut. The   position is 35 hours per week, follows the 10-month school calendar (44 weeks per year) and boasts a comprehensive Hartford HealthCare benefit package.

The successful candidate will provide age-specific care, rendering a comprehensive range of services to the child, adolescent and adult including health promotion and health maintenance. The Nurse Practitioner will follow accepted and standard protocols of practice using a high-level of expertise and independence and appropriately prescribe and administer medications. The practitioner will also consult with and lead members of an interdisciplinary team, along with community representatives, in establishing criteria to monitor the standards of care. Evaluating the quality and overall effectiveness of the services provided are additional critical components of the position.

1 - 3 years of family-oriented clinical experience is required. Management and/or program development expertise is a plus.

A current APRN license from the State of Connecticut and BLS certification are required.
